Charlie Anderson

It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you that Charlie Anderson died suddenly on 29th April 2012.  Robert and I are bereft. We have lost a wonderful husband and a devoted Dad.  He had not been feeling well with pain at his orbital sight plus odd infections.  I was in Portugal at the time sorting things for our family holiday in June, Charlie stayed in Scotland to sort out the garden.  Robert our son found him after we had not heard from him for a day - so unlike him so we panicked.

We are having a private funeral but in November we are celebrating with a Choral Evensong at The University Chapel (Charlie loved the Chapel and its music).  I will post details if anyone would like to come they are most welcome.  He loved his University and had a sense of gratitude to it for helping him in his life.  The Chaplaincy is looking after his funeral.
He so enjoyed the reunion and I am so happy that we came.

This is the entry Charlie submitted for the 2011 Reunion
After a busy thirty plus years as a GP in Carstairs and looking after the State Hospital, I retired in 2004. I enjoy gardening, woodworking, watercolour painting and travel - especially to our house in Portugal.  Mary and I have one son, Robert who graduated in Medicine this year and is now a FY1 at the Western in Glasgow.  The Bute Hall hasn't changed!  My own health has been a bit of a roller coaster. I have had my left orbit cleared after being diagnosed with a sarcoma and now have a pink eye patch, but on the plus side, my hypercholesterolemia, type two diabetes and hypertension are all well controlled.

This is one of the few photos we have of all three of our family together at Robert's graduation on 30/06/2010.  The 89 year old lady is Mary's godmother and our surrogate Granny as the rest have passed away.  Joan Simpson from Spalding.  Her GPs are doing a grand job!!
